How Often To Train in the Off-season

Are you about to finish your season, and looking to get back into off-season training?  You may be wondering ‘How often should I train?’.  First, you must know the answer to one question: What is your training age?


Beginner: No training- 1 year of training

Intermediate: 1-3 years of training

Advanced: Over 3 years of training


BeginnerNeed to train 2 times per week for a minimum of 45 minutes

IntermediateNeed to train 3-4 times per week for a minimum of 45 minutes

AdvancedNeed to train 4-6 times per week for a minimum of 45 minutes


Remember, your goal in the off-season is to:

  • Build muscle
  • Build strength
  • Improve flexibility
  • Improve speed and agility
