Should My Athlete Strength Train During the Season?

image 4

Hi Parents,

This is one of the most common questions we get during baseball and softball season.

Yes—your athlete should continue strength training during the season.

As the season goes on, athletes are throwing, sprinting, and competing more—often with less recovery. Without strength training, they don’t maintain strength… they slowly lose it.

In-season training helps:

• Maintain strength and power

• Protect shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees

• Improve recovery between games

• Keep athletes feeling fast late in the season

This is not about getting bigger or exhausted. It’s about keeping the body resilient while game volume increases.
